Peter Hedman. La forza del sentimento, la poesia del ferro.
Peter Hedman, scolpisce con la forza della creatività la leggerezza del ferro. Emozione, fisicità, spontaneità sono le condizioni essenziali affinché il suo mestiere d’artista navighi nel magma incandescente della materia e ne estrae la vita. Teso verso la classicità, sfiorato dal passionale e dal romantico, accarezza l’ironia. Uno scavo tra le anse dell’esistenza per giungere all’origine, all’assoluto, in una sequenza di episodi espressivi, di riduzioni, compressioni, eruzioni telluriche, capaci di sfibrare il corpo e nutrire l’essenza, il senso, l’anima di figure sottilissime che si lasciano collocare nello spazio assorbendo e rilasciano l’eco di ciò che sente la fibra del tempo. Hedman proietta sulla materia viva il segno portante di una forza interiore, palpito figurativo in grado di ridurre al limite il respiro volumetrico e formale per giungere a un discioglimento della massa corporea, la cui epidermide, scolpita da un’elegante soffio, avvolge le linee flessuose di figure poggiate quasi in bilico sulla base. Acrobati che si librano nell’aria grazie ad un impulso capace di permettere loro di disancorarsi dal peso. Slanciati, flessibili, duttili, espressivi, le sue sculture, sospese tra fantasia e realtà, sembrano danzare evocando il fascino del sogno. Il ferro, di conseguenza, nel movimento della bellezza, acquista una musicalità armonica inafferrabile, quasi un’illusione inarcata nella tensione emotiva di un pensiero curvilineo proiettato di figure semplici in grado di flettere la luce e d’intrecciare un dialogo con le potenzialità espressive del ferro. Opere di piccole dimensioni, forgiate con fine sensibilità poetica, vivono lo spazio come bagliori di esistenza, come estensioni di un sentire con le mani la passione, gli umori, le vibrazioni della materia prima. E’ un veicolare, un “fare Arte”, quello di Hedman, con la consapevolezza di plasmare l’invisibile o meglio lo scintillio del sentimento umano nell’emozione plastica. Forme nello spazio come soggetti slanciati in avanti che ci danno l’impressione di un etereo dinamismo, di un’onirica evasione, ma anche di una visione ottimista, liberatrice e allegorica. Nelle sue opere, infatti, erompe una crescente vitalità, a sua volta elaborata in sintesi figurativa danzante, atta a sfidare le leggi d’equilibrio, quasi una situazione ludica capace di sorprenderci e di coinvolgerci nella giostra artistica. Hedman esplora il tessuto delle sensazioni e ne rovescia gli effetti, con una manualità tecnica in grado di rivelare l’improvvisa intensificazione della facoltà “visionarie”. Sono favole tra i petali argentei del ferro, dove si animano angeli caduti dal cielo, o guerrieri del freddo che come eroi solitari dalle lunghissime gambe s’incamminano nella notte dei tempi portando con sé il dolore dell’esistenza. Materia, anima e corpo, tutto vive, pulsa, vibra sotto i colpi dell’incudine di Hedman. Dall’incandescenza rovente di ogni battito dilaga un magma energetico che si lascia forgiare come una musica ancestrale tra i volteggiamenti armonici della natura, danze rituali in fiamme azzurre, altere e superbe, quasi sibille della creazione che verrà. Il risultato è un flusso di altimetrie emozionali calibrate nella linearità geometrica, un’intensa evoluzione che si compone in forme affascinanti e allungate e ogni forma mantiene inalterato il proprio spirito, saperlo “ascoltare con gli occhi”può rivelare l’anima che è in noi. Tenace e malleabile il ferro fonde la sua consistenza all’interno di fucine minacciose come bocche dell’inferno; ormai liquefatto emana una luminosità intensa e una chiarezza cromatica esuberante, squillante, evanescente, punto d’ebollizione estremo capace di inebriare e sollevare il senso creativo pullulante di tensione percettiva. Da questa tempesta d’energia il filtro poetico dell’ispirazione, del sensibile e dell’invisibile inizia a modellare le vibrazioni, di una materia oramai esausta, in armonie tattili e visive, riviviscenza sensoriale dalle infinite sfumature che lentamente si mitiga in un brivido caldo, pericolosa combinazione di vita fremente e potenza risvegliata. La coscienza incontra l’inconscio, il pensiero incontra la creatività e dall’umano sentire la voce della terra inizia il suo viaggio verso il senso vitale, verso antichi presagi, verso l’immenso, per un approdo nell’eternità. La memoria plasma le volumetrie, il sentimento leviga le superfici ed una soffocante prepotenza passionale scandisce l’atemporalità, dalla vita della materia rinasce il senso materico della vita. L’officina di Hedman, penso si possa definire un palcoscenico dell’anima dove una ruvida atmosfera si espande nell’aria insieme al rumore assordante, ma cadenzato, degli attrezzi del mestiere, una sinfonia scatenante sonorità aride, spigolose, taglienti. E’ come se una forte fisicità, sottoforma di scultura, attribuisse un significato simbolico alle storie che avanzano da un vortice convulso di emozioni e ferro, di azioni e reazioni, impasto denso di riserve, pudore, paure, metafore, favole. Evaporazioni esistenziali, esperienze essenziali e metafore del tempo sembrano rivivere nel bagliore intenso emanato dalla fusione, giallo vivido, poi bianco abbagliante, disarmante, abbacinante. Potenza evocativa disegnata con segno ombroso e scolpita nell’inquietudine sfrangiata del sogno, nel mistero delle forme, ma dove le sfumature dei piccoli tocchi e il gesto unico di Hedman distende e consola. Nelle molecole del ferro transita l’intuizione creativa dell’artista, un qualcosa d’indefinito capace di espandersi nella liquidità del materiale fino a solidificarsi lentamente in espressioni che abitano lo spazio, sintesi di stati d’animo che flettono nella sua profondità illusioni o meditazioni in grado di svelare ciò che ancora si cela all’interno del corpo dell’opera. Un dedalo di tracce annodate al tempo e sollevate dal vento dell’ispirazione portano in superficie melodie intrise di nostalgie e rivolte alla speranza. Peter Hedman. The power of sentiment, the poetry of iron With the power of creativity Peter Hedman sculptures the fickleness of the iron. Emotion, physicality and spontaneity are the essential conditions while his artistic craft navigates through the incandescent magma of the matter and from this extracts life. Tended towards classicism, touched by the passionate and romantic, caressing irony. An excavation between the loops of existence to reach the origins, the absolute, in a sequence of expressive episodes, of reductions, compressions, telluric eruptions capable of draining the body and nourishing the core, the sense, the soul of the thin figures that allow themselves to be put into the absorbing space and issue an echo of that which feels the thread of time. Hedman projects on living material a mark that carries an inner strength, a symbolic pulse capable of reducing down to the limit the volumetric and formal breathing in order to achieve a melting down of body mass, the surface of which was carved by an elegant gust, wrapping supple lines of the figures which rest almost balanced on the base. Acrobats that hover in the air thanks to an urge that enables them to break free from the weight. Slender, flexible, ductile, expressive, his sculptures suspended between fantasy and reality seem to dance evoking the charm of the dream. Consequently, the iron in the movement of beauty, acquires a harmonious elusive musicality, almost a curved illusion in the emotional tension of a curvilinear thought of projected simple figures able to bend light and create a dialogue with the expressive potential of the iron. Works of small dimension forged with subtle poetic sensibility, living the space as flashes of existence, as extensions of a feeling that with his hands show the passion, the moods, the vibrations of the raw material. The creativeness of Hedman is a vehicle,”art maker”, with the knowledge to shape the invisible, or rather the spark of human sentiment in artificial emotion. Shapes in space like slender subjects leaning in a forward momentum that give us the impression of an ethereal dynamism, a dream-like escape, but also an optimistic vision, liberating and allegorical. In a nutshell, in his works erupts a growing vitality, in turn it develops a figurative dance, likely to challenge the laws of equilibrium, almost a playful situation capable of surprising us and involving us in an artistic carousel. Hedman explores the fabric of feelings and reverses the effects with a manual technique capable of unfolding the sudden intensification of the faculty “visionary”. These are tales among the silvery petals of iron, where life has been given to angels fallen from heaven, or warriors of the cold who like solitary long-legged heroes walk in the dim and distant past, bringing with them the pain of existence. Matter, body and soul, everything is alive, pulsating, vibrating from the blows of Hedman to the anvil. From the red-hot incandescence of each thump is spread an energetic magma that allows itself to be forged as ancestral music between the harmonious twirls of nature, ritual dances in azure flames, haughty and arrogant, almost sibyls of the creation to come. The result is a stream of emotional adjustment in the profile, measured in geometric linearity, an intense evolution that comprises attractive and elongated forms and every form preserves its unaltered spirit, knowing that to “listen with the eyes” can reveal the soul within us. Tenacious and malleable, the iron melts its texture within menacing forges as gates of inferno; by now liquefied exudes an intense brightness, a vibrant chromatic clarity, sharp, evanescent, a boiling point of extreme intoxication which is able to raise the creative sense teeming with perceptual tension. From this tempest of energy the poetic filter of inspiration, from the sensitive and the invisible begins the shaping of the vibrations, of a matter now exhausted, in tactile and visual harmony, a sensory revival of infinite nuances that slowly mitigates in a hot shiver, a dangerous combination of trembling life and reawakened power. Consciousness meets the unconscious, thought meets creativity and from the human being you can hear the voice of the earth that begins its journey to the vital sense, to ancient omens, to the immense, for a place in eternity. The memory shapes the masses, the feeling polishes the surfaces and a suffocating passionate arrogance sweeps the timelessness, from the life of the matter is reborn the material sense of life. I think we can define Hedman’s workshop as a platform of the soul where a rough atmosphere expands in the air together with the deafening but rhythmic noise with regard to the tools of the trade, triggering a symphony of sounds, dry, sharp, incisive. It is as if a strong physicality, in the form of sculpture, attributes symbolic meaning to the stories that advance from a hectic whirl of emotions and iron, of actions and reactions, a thick mixture of reserves, modesty, fears, metaphors and fables. Existential evaporations, essential experiences and metaphors of time seem to relive the intense glow emanated from the fusion, vivid yellow, then brilliant white, disarming, dazzling. Evocative power that is drawn with a shady sign and engraved in the frayed anxiety of the dream, in the mystery of the forms, but where the nuances of the small touches and the single gesture of Hedman relaxes and consoles. In the molecules of the iron passes the creative intuition of the artist, an undefined something capable of expanding in the liquidity of the material to slowly solidify in expressions that inhabit the space, a synthesis of moods that flexes its depth, illusions or meditations able to reveal what still is hidden within the body of the work. A labyrinth of tracks tied to time and raised by the wind of inspiration carry to the surface melodies steeped in nostalgia and addressed to hope.
