Chateau Eza The village of Eze is situated atop a rocky outcrop 1400 ft above the sea and has evolved from its founding in the 8th century. It not only has a dramatic view, but an amazing history, having been invaded by the Moors, taken by the forces of Suleiman the Magnificent, and sacked by the soldiers of Louis the XIV. In the 1920’s Prince William of Sweden and King Gustav V were captivated by Eze and bought Chateau Eza.

In 1993 there was a vision to turn the chateau into a luxury hotel, leading the property down the path to where it is today:  an award-winning hotel of 12 intimate rooms and suites along with a fine dining restaurant.  Here you will find an award-winning property also recognized as one of the ‘most romantic hotels’ in Europe. Located 18 miles from Nice and 15 minutes from Monte Carlo, Chateau Eza is the perfect destination for exploring the Cote d’Azur.

The gastronomic restaurant serves à la carte French and Mediterranean cuisine and is overseen by Chef Axel Wagner, formerly the Executive Chef of Georges Blanc in Vonnas. Chef Wagner brings a wealth of culinary experience from his travels in Asia and throughout Europe.

From the Riviera to Singapore, and from China to Switzerland, as well as points in between, he trained and assisted George Blanc with this ventures abroad. He returned to Eze bringing flavors and cooking techniques learned throughout his travels. Set against the stunning backdrop of the French Riviera, you can dine indoors with a 180°panoramic view or on one of the the sun-kissed terraces taking in the Riviera weather all overlooking the sparkling azure sea.
